Animal Aid Unlimited received an urgent call on their helpline reporting a puppy who couldn’t move after being hit by car. A rescue team was quickly dispatched to the scene.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, they found a puppy that was injured and lying motionless on the road. And when they approached, they thought these might be her final breaths. But her eyes were wide open as they lifted her, and she whimpered.

Her family of dogs and humans gathered around as they carried her to the ambulance. Some of them may have thought they were saying a final goodbye, but they would have been wrong.

In the hospital, they discovered no fractures, although her condition was poor for the first few days because she couldn’t eat and would barely move. They suspected a spinal injury which needs carefully monitored quiet and rest.

But by Day 6, she decided she’d had quite enough quiet and rest, and her eager standing and eating proclaimed her intention to live! From forlorn and hovering on the edge of death to active! Alert! Playful and oh so alive.

She has made a full recovery. Although very happy at the shelter, she still needs a loving home for herself. Hope she finds her forever home soon. Thanks to the dedicated work of the rescue team and the veterinarians at Animal Aid Unlimited, this brave little puppy was able to overcome her injuries and start a new chapter in her life. She may have started out lying motionless on the road, but now she is full of energy and life, and she is sure to bring joy to everyone she meets.
