With patience, care, and love, abused or traumatized dogs can learn to trust again and form strong bonds with their new families or caregivers. They may need some extra attention and support as they adjust to their new surroundings, but with time and positive reinforcement, they can thrive.
It’s important to note that every dog is unique and will have its own set of needs and challenges. Some may require more intensive care, such as medical treatment or behavioral training, while others may simply need a safe and loving home to call their own. Whatever the case may be, it’s essential that dogs receive the care and attention they need to live happy, healthy lives.
This skinny, scabies-covered dog was seen in the street in Spain. The emaciated dog was desperately searching for food while showing off its bulging ribs. People phoned rescuers right away to assist her.
When the volunteers from Galgos Del Sol came to pick her up, they could not even determine the dog’s breed due to the sad appearance of the animal. They rushed to take her back to their center and began to restore her health – feeding her on a schedule, giving her medication, and taking care of her.
The dog was afraid of humans, but the day after being rescued, she began to joyously wag her tail – she understood that now she was safe. The dog was named Sunday. Due to the excessive shortage of weight at first, she was fed standing up on a special chair. Only after a while, was the dog able to eat normally.
During the period of treatment, the staff fell in love with her, and after a slight improvement, one of the employees took her into her care. Sunday began to get better and stronger every day. She was sensitively cared for and made friends with the other dogs in the family and played with them for hours. Her fur grew back and she gained weight.
Soon, Sunday was a different dog under the kind care of a female staff member and she became an active, playful, and affectionate companion. When the time came to look for a home for her, her foster mom decided that the family was very accustomed to her. Sunday stayed with them and continued to bring joy to everyone in the household!
