The strongest force on Earth is the bond between a mother and her offspring. Animal mothers, like human mothers, are connected and dedicated to their offspring. A mother will always be a mother, regardless of the species. And this koala mother-baby pair is proof of it!
A mother koala was critically hurt during an accident. But, happily, she and her baby were saved just in time by a bunch of rescuers. Lizzie was taken to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital with her young joey, Phantom.
While the little koala was fine and unharmed, his mom was in a critical condition due to her injuries. So she had to undergo surgery to save her life.
The thing that broke my heart the most was when the 6-month-old joey stayed at his mother’s side during the procedure. The vet concluded that keeping them together and providing comfort would be preferable, since dividing them may easily traumatise them and make them uneasy.
Native to Australia, koalas are pretty asocial animals. The only bond is between babies and their moms.
